The gravel bikes are enjoying increasing popularity among cyclists. The advantages are apparent. They have a more comfortable geometry than racing bikes, are great for off-road riding and are suitable for longer journeys. The conventional racing bike components reach their limits with these bikes. That is why Shimano has developed its own switching groupsets especially for this category.
The GRX shift-brake levers have a different grip geometry and surface. The upper humps have been raised so that you cannot slide forward on rough surfaces. A recessed thumb recess ensures a firm grip at all times in difficult terrain. And so that your hands don't slide back and forth even on rides in the rain, a non-slip material was selected, which also has good damping properties and thus increases comfort.
The dual control lever of the GRX series offers, as usual, excellent ergonomics. The crisp switching processes can be carried out quickly, precisely and with little finger force. This means that you never lose control of your bike even in hectic situations.
The brake lever was also designed so that it can be stopped quickly from any grip position at any time. It is slightly bent inwards and the axle the lever has been moved upwards. This improves ergonomics and at the same time reduces the amount of hand strength required. In addition, the reach of the brake lever can be individually adjusted so that bikers with smaller hands can also travel safely. The flat-mount brake caliper improves braking performance and controllability under all conditions. Maintenance work, such as venting or changing pads, can also be carried out easily. The L03A brake pads with cooling fins help to keep the brake temperatures low, especially on long descents.
